Why is a CPL filter needed?

Summer driving often brings harsh sunlight and heavy reflections from your dashboard onto the windshield, which can obscure the view. This filter is engineered to cut through that glare, giving your cameras a crystal-clear view of the road ahead.

CPL filters block polarized light — like the reflections bouncing off your windshield — giving your Comma device a clearer view and helping OpenPilot stay focused on the road

🧪 Tested extensively — the CPL does not block the camera area used by OpenPilot’s machine learning model (see our test image!). You get better performance without sacrificing visibility.
